Cranes in Hula-Valley, Israel

The Hula-Valley in Northern Israel is probably one of the best places in the world to get very close views on Cranes. Several tens of thousands birds from Eastern Europe and Russia winter in the region and gather every evening to sleep in the shallow Lake Hula. The sometimes snowcovered peak of Mount Hermon, makes a dramatic backdrop for photography. In recent years single Demoiselle Cranes join the groups of Common Crane.
