Neu im Dezember 2009: Ausstellung im Haus der Natur, Potsdam

Noch bis Mitte Februar ist im Potsdamer Haus der Natur, Lindenstraße 12, meine Ausstellung "Impressionen aus der Vogelwelt Brandenburgs" zu sehen. Für die Ausstellung habe ich eine Auswahl typischer Vogelarten der wald- und seenreichen Region getroffen. Gezeigt werden einige charakteristische Arten wie See- oder Fischadler - und natürlich Kraniche.

Impressions from a trip to Southern Israel in March 2011. I spent most of my time in the Arava-Valley - part of a main Eurasian-African bird-flyway. March is a good time to see a great variety of migrating bird-species; and at the same time still many wintering birds are around, like this Bluethroat:

International Bird Festival Eilat, Israel in March

For the third consecutive year the International Bird Migration Festival in Eilat, Israel is due to take place end of March. The festival offers possibly the best opportunity to get started with Birdwatching in Israel, one of the birdrichest countries in the world. The organizers from the Israeli Ornithology Center offer an amazing programme with daily excursions to the best places to observe resident birds and bird migration, that is in full swing end of march. I recommend the festival as an ideal chance to learn about the best birding sites and talk to the most experienced birders of the country.
