Sinai Rosefinch

Sinai Rosefinches inhabit remote Mountains in the Middle East. In Israel they can be found in the Dead Sea Region and in the Arava Valley. To photograph these rather shy birds in their natural environment  I used a wide angle lens with remote release and put water in an area known as a regular wintering site. Thanks to Eilat based  Bird-photographer Avi Meir the drinking-spot is well maintained and known to the birds and it did not take too long until they showed up. On the best day during the 10-day-project up to seven males and more than a dozen females came to drink.
